Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Water (for the water bath)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the sugar over medium heat until golden brown to create caramel.
  3. Blend the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the cooled caramel in a baking dish.
  5. Place the baking dish in a larger dish filled with hot water halfway up the sides.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until set (a knife should come out clean).
  7. Cool completely before refrigerating for at least four hours or overnight. To serve, run a knife around the edges and flip onto a plate.
